British actor, fashion commentator, cultural insider, and DJ — *breathe* — Chelsea Leyland sat down and opened up to COOLS.
Chelsea was born and raised in London and, shortly after school, she moved to New York to pursue acting.
In 2012, she was named the face of Cole Haan’s fall promotional campaign, and her DJ debut was at Valentino’s 2010 Fashion Night Out Celebrity Poker Tournament. Shortly afterwords she was asked to DJ for an afterparty for the White House Correspondent’s Dinner and her DJ career started booming.
On top of DJing, Chelsea is currently involved in Project Epilepsy. Her mission is to reduce the stigma of epilepsy and to help decrease the side effects of medication by using CBD oil.
Being a juvenile myoclonic epilepsy sufferer since the age of 13 makes this project one that is close to her heart. Chelsea recently came together with Mark Cross and Farfetch to spread awareness, and raise donations for the cause.
Whether you agree with cannabis for medical use or recreationally, it has lately rushed into fashionability.
Last month Apple BeatsX by Dre hosted a four-course CBD-infused seafood dinner in London.
Earlier this year Kim Kardashian threw a CBD-themed baby shower to celebrate her son Psalm West. Cannabis e-tailers such as the US-based Dosist will ship products across the US and Canada.
E-tailer The Chillery distributes cannabis wellness products in the UK. There are cannabis-focused fashion and lifestyle magazines, such as New York-based Gossamer, and a cannabis pharmacy is soon to open in London’s Marylebone.
